TRAILS
AERIAL TRAILS
A JOURNEY AT HEIGHT
Self belayed ropes course journeys have been popularised by the explosion of “French style” adventure parks over the last decade. Such parks are usually: designed with at least “half a days” worth of activities to entice visitors; include about 30-40 bridge elements and zip lines built between trees; and have a design life of about 5-8 years. See possibilities below, we can work with you to design and build a custom project like this.
Our TRAIL COURSES and TEAM TRAIL COURSES are usually smaller, 5 -10 bridge type elements, designed for education centres or school camps where there are a few special requirements:
- Session times are limited usually to a couple of hours.
- participants are organised into groups of 10-30 people.
- Instructors have a legal duty of care that is beyond that of a parent.

ENGINEERED, MADE OF POLES AND STEEL – 20 YEAR DESIGN LIFE
How does it work?
Participants are attached to a continuous or semi continuous safety system throughout their journey from start to finish.
Participants begin at a start station where they are attached to the safety system, they then make their way through the course to the finish. (If the course is not a “closed loop” it will almost always end with an exhilarating zip line or a descender descent).
- Your layout is always customised to make best use of space available and existing topography of your site.
- Layouts can be in straight lines or zig zags.
- We blend wire tension guys and steel compression struts for stability, and layout flexibility.
- Attractive half round or circular platforms.
- Access can be via, start tower, staple climb, net climb OR ramp / net bridge if topography allows.
- Egress can be: zipline, descender, net slide, OR ramp / bridge if topography allows.
- Choose from about 20 different bridge elements – we help you design out rescue hotspots – and bottlenecks.
- Comes with a practice area, so participants can master using pulleys and safety system at ground level.
- Instructor access for inspections and pre use checks is designed in.
- Choice of safety system to suit your existing equipment.

COMMUNICATE – WORK TOGETHER – YOU NEED SOME HELP – ALL SUCCEED
Run group sizes of 10-30 participants.? Want a high ropes course with lots of team activity and involvement.?
Getting lots of kids up on the elements at the same time has been done before, it is usually expensive because there needs to be multiple safety systems and additional supervision by specialised instructors.
For the TEAM TRAIL COURSE we have conceived a series of elements that must to be operated by your friends on the ground. These elements have ropes hanging to the ground which the team must use to position / stabilise / lift into position for the person at height to cross successfully.
All the standard options of the TRAIL COURSE, but we design in a few of the TEAM TRAIL elements below.
