INSPECTION - COMPLIANCE - TRAINING
SERVICE: INSPECTION
our reports highlight legal obligations – The gap between “must do” & “nice to do” is made clear.
With the expansion and maturation of the ropes course industry, the inspection process is more important than ever.
- Some early structures have reached the end of the useful life,
- Some equipment is being used in ways that manufacturers no longer endorse,
- Some operators are using procedures which are no longer best practice,
- Some new courses are receiving huge numbers of recreational users,
- Ropes courses in some states are deemed amusement rides and devices, operators of these have additional obligations.
The inspection work required, depends not only on your organisations capacity and knowledge, but also on the date that your structure was designed or modified, as this dictates which standards the structure was built to and will be inspected to.
WE OFFER 2 TYPES OF REPORT AND SOME EXTRAS TO CATER FOR MOST NEEDS.
Fixed Structure:
In some cases the fixed structure inspection may be is all that is required. It involves a climbing inspection of the fixed structure, and advises on essential maintenance actions needed.
The focus is to ensure that the structure will not collapse, IE that the fatigue and decomposition of materials and equipment is detected before failure occurs.

Compliance Audit - UNDERSTAND YOUR OBLIGATIONS AS AN OPERATOR, OR AS AN IMPORTER
Operators of ropes courses and zip lines in Australia have legal obligations, for example, statutory work health and safety laws are in place in each state and territory of Australia and you must comply with them. Failure to comply is a breach of the law, even if no incident occurs. You cannot insure against breaches of statutory law, you simply must meet your duties and in the ways outlined in the relevant health and safety act and regulation.
As the person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU), you have a duty to ‘ensure the safety of all workers and others, so far as is reasonably practicable’. Workers, includes contractors, sub-contractors, volunteers, students.
An audit is a good way for an organisation to satisfy itself that it has implemented physical and administrative processes compliant with regulations governing ropes course operation. This can include assessing the adequacy of structures, operational procedures, and administrative controls.
TRAINING
Operators have an obligation to train their staff, we can help. We offer 3 day rescue workshops – where our trainer comes to your site and trains a group of your staff using your apparatus.
Demonstrate best practice methods of rescue for your situations. We build in lots of opportunity for practice
